Greg Gannon, CEO InsurIQ

By Jessica Peskin, Executive Team, InsurTech Denver

At InsurTech Denver, we’re big believers in spotlighting the companies quietly transforming how insurance gets done. This month, we’re featuring Greg Gannon, co-founder and CEO of InsurIQ, a platform built by insurance people for insurance people.

Greg’s co-founder and CTO, Shameem Shah, didn’t set out to build a tech company. InsurIQ’s predecessor was a successful A&H MGU, but the limitations of Excel-based and paper-heavy processes pushed Shameem to build a PAS from the ground up. The result? A platform that solved their internal needs and, eventually, attracted loyal SaaS clients. Today, the wider industry is taking note.

In our conversation, Greg shared how InsurIQ is streamlining underwriting, improving speed to market, and delivering fast ROI through a modular, no-code architecture that plays well with legacy systems and emerging tech alike. Whether you’re standing up a new program or trying to free your team from spreadsheets, this is a company worth knowing.

Five Questions with Greg Gannon

  1. For those unfamiliar with InsurIQ, who are you and what core problems are you solving for carriers and MGAs? How does your modular platform meet clients where they are on their tech journey?

InsurIQ is a SaaS platform purpose-built for the operational realities of insurance carriers, MGAs, and program administrators. We started by solving our own pain points as an A&H MGU, which means we understand how hard it is to scale when your tools can’t keep up.

Our platform is fully modular. Clients can start with what they need most, whether that’s an underwriting workbench, quoting, policy admin, or agent compliance and scale from there.

Whether you’re replacing spreadsheets or augmenting a legacy system, we deliver value fast without requiring a “rip and replace.” We meet you where you are and help you move forward.

  1. Underwriting efficiency is a hot topic. How does InsurIQ’s Underwriting Workbench improve speed-to-market and ease the burden on underwriting teams, including P&C products that often lack flexibility in legacy systems?

WorkbenchIQ is built with no-code configurability to streamline workflows, centralize data, and eliminate the manual back-and-forth that underwriters deal with every day.

It gives underwriting teams a single view of the submission, including rating inputs, referrals, capacity availability, and status, all in one place. We support straight through processing where it makes sense, but we also give underwriters the control and visibility they need when human judgment matters.

For P&C lines, especially specialty programs that don’t fit easily into a legacy core, our flexibility and no-code tools make it easier to launch new products, adjust rules, and onboard new partners quickly with intuitive configuration tools.

  1. You’ve built your platform with accident and health complexity in mind, which is notoriously hard to operationalize. How does that foundation translate into better performance for more straight-line P&C use cases?

Because we built a system to handle that level of complexity (i.e. multi-party billing, compliance requirements, layered rating logic, and high volume), we now have the flexibility and control to support simpler, more transactional products with ease.

When we work with clients in commercial P&C or niche programs, they benefit from a platform that’s been stress-tested against some of the hardest-to-automate lines. That means better configurability, faster deployment, and fewer workarounds because we’ve already solved for the hard stuff.

  1. InsurIQ is built to play well with others, whether that’s integrating into existing systems or partnering with other tech vendors. Can you share an example of how your plug and play approach has enabled collaboration rather than disruption?

Absolutely. One example is our work integrating with Coherent’s Spark engine for rating and with Martin & Co. for rate and form support.

We’ve designed the platform so that clients can bring their own components. Whether it’s a rating engine, document generation tool, or data enrichment provider, we’ll plug it in.

Rather than dictate a tech stack, we build around what’s already working. That flexibility lets us act as a modernization layer, improving the front end without disrupting downstream systems or internal workflows.

  1. For carriers or MGAs looking to modernize without a massive rip-and-replace project, where does InsurIQ deliver the fastest ROI? What parts of the platform, like underwriting or agent onboarding, tend to have the biggest impact?

The fastest ROI usually comes from two areas: digitizing underwriting workflows and automating agent onboarding and compliance.

On the underwriting side, WorkbenchIQ removes friction by giving underwriters everything they need in one place, from submission intake to referral logic to rating inputs. That alone can cut time to quote dramatically.

Equally impactful (especially across a broader market) is our agent onboarding and license management (ValidateIQ) module. Many carriers and MGAs struggle with agent licensing, appointments, and onboarding. It’s often managed manually or across siloed systems, which can lead to regulatory exposure or lost business. InsurIQ automates those checks, whether through NIPR integration or custom rules, regardless of insurance product. So, you can onboard agents faster and stay compliant without the busywork.

Together, those two modules deliver a quick win. Clients who see the most success are typically program-focused MGAs and mid-size carriers who want enterprise-grade tools without the cost, bloat, or 12-month deployment cycles. We can have these solutions live and delivering ROI in weeks, not quarters.
